Required Materials
Before beginning to clean the interior of your vehicle, you will need the following materials:

Vacuum with hose (attachments recommended)

Vehicle shampoo

Leather conditioner (if applicable)

Interior detailing spray
-
Scrub brush
-
Glass cleaner
-
Spray or Paste Wax
-
Soapy water/Exterior detailing spray
Interior Detailing Guide
Step 1 – Vacuum
-
Remove loose items and garbage from the vehicle
-
Vacuum the interior
-
Vacuum from top to bottom so any loose particles fall to the floor.

Work from one end of the vehicle to the other, ensuring no spots are missed.
-
Go over tough spots several times with the vacuum until all particles are gone.
-
Move seats forward and backward to reach all areas of the floor.
-

Check crevices and tight spaces for missed areas
Step 2 – Shampoo

Identify and treat stains and spots that require special treatment
-
Apply a stronger cleaning product to treat situations as needed.
-
Use caution when using stronger cleaning products that are not intended for use on cars.
-
Treat the stain several times as needed until the stain is gone or lessened.

Shampoo carpets and upholstery
-
Use a scrub brush and vehicle shampoo.
-
Check instructions on your vehicle shampoo for tips.

This step may be repeated as needed.

Check for additional stains or areas that were missed
Step 3 – Dashboard and Plastics

Wipe all hard surfaces (excluding glass)
-
Use an interior detailing spray or all-purpose cleaner and a microfiber towel.
-
DO NOT spray excessive amounts of liquid on electronics.
-

Clean tight areas
-
This includes air vents, corners, and cup holders.
-
Use cotton swabs or small brushes.
-
-
Check for areas that were missed
Step 4 – Glass

Clean windshields
-
Spray front and rear windshield directly with a glass cleaner.

Wipe clean with a microfiber towel.
-

Clean side windows
-
Roll down windows and clean the top edge of the glass.
-
Roll back up and spray directly with glass cleaner and wipe clean.
-

Check for areas that were missed.
Step 5 – Door Jambs

Clean the door jambs
-
Use an exterior detailing spray or soap and water.
-
Soap and water may work best for very dirty door jambs.
-
If using soap and water, remember to rinse the soap off before continuing.

Apply wax
-
Apply 1-3 thin coats of wax to the door panels.
-
Follow the instructions on your product or check step 5 under the exterior detailing guide.

Do not apply wax to any plastic trim.
